Teamwork

I'm realizing how fortunate I am to be able to currently be working with so many wonderful people. On top of the wonderful people I have the opportunity to work with in school, I also am able to work with wonderful people on my change project and in CCP.

For my change project, I'm working with a group of professionals in the OD field and Training & Design field on a project we're tentatively calling Conversations for Social Action or CSA. This experience has been wonderful and allowed me to be in a highly collaborative environment with people who bring a lot of experience and wisdom to the table. In addition, we are all committed to working on a project to help fulfill a need in the community and support the unemployment population. This is really important to me as the one main criteria for a change project was to find something that was meaningful and I feel that this project is. We are currently gathering results of surveys to help identify needs in the community and planning an event in April at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park.

Another great group experience I'm having is through CCP or Community Consulting Partnership. I really wasn't sure what the process would be like being on a volunteer team of strangers working with a non-profit organization. However, I now feel that I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm really enjoying the chance to work with a team of other committed individuals who are there to learn from the process and experience as much as I am. Our team has really come together over the last couple weeks beyond anything I could have imagined. We had our first client meeting yesterday that went fabulously! It was really great that 5 of us were able to be at that meeting as well. I feel that we connected well with our client and I'm really excited to move forward with the process.

The End of Days

Yesterday there was a snow scare before we left class. Part way through the day they started sending kids home from school on the eastside. Priya and I had planned to take James and Felicia shopping on the eastside after class so we weren't sure how this would impact our plans. I wasn't too worried because the weather had been so strange going back and forth over and over each day this last week. We decided to brave it and I'm glad we did as the roads were clear and all the snow was off to the sides of the streets.

I really hadn't wanted to cancel our plans as I am realizing that our time together is coming to an end. It's hard to believe that our journey together is almost over and soon James will be going back to Indonesia. I know others are feeling the same about our time together as a cohort. Some others are having this realization and we're all wanting to make the most of our time together. We will no longer have the constant contact with eachother as we do now. We are all already making plans for next quarter and trying to find ways to do as much as possible with eachother then and after.

While I'm looking forward to being done with school....I'm also dreading it and sad about it. I made the comment that there are only 3 months and 3 residencies left. Someone asked if that was a good or bad thing. To be honest... I'm not quite sure.

Reflecting About Reflecting

So I've decided to start a new blog. I still have my old blog, but I feel that I need a sort of separation for different aspects in my life. I guess it would be almost a sort of alter ego blog. While I still like updating my blog about what's going on in my little world...I felt like I needed a place to reflect and process. This is how this Reflective Rambling blog came about. My intention is to use this blog as more of a mirror for myself.
